Google+ a new social era

Whilst still being in beta invite-only stage,  the new Google+ social network has surpassed 18 million users, which is already 2.4 percent of Facebook’s 750 million users. Google has had several unsuccessful flirts with the social party, namely Wave and Buzz, but they have done their homework with regards to competing with Facebook in this instance. Some Google+ features are as follows:

Icon for circlesCircles – The easiest way to share some things with college buddies, others with your parents and almost nothing with your boss.
 Icon for hangouts
Hangouts – Let friends know that you’re free for a video hangout, any time, anywhere. Then catch up, watch YouTube or… just hang out.
 Icon for sparks
Sparks – A feed of only the things that you’re really into, so when you’re free, there’s always something waiting to be watched, read or shared.

Do you think Google+ has enough to take on Facebook? Recent reports suggest that Facebook lost 6 million users in the US in May alone, with some predicting that the social networking phenomenon has peaked and is starting its decline. (
